Going to a concert

One of my best friend won a contest yesterday to go see a concert in the Coca-Cola lodge and she could invite 5 friends. Of course, she invited me and I accepted. She said that ”food is included and free for the night”.

I know they’re probably going to bring pizzas, wings, mozzarella sticks, and other unhealthy stuff like that. So, I’m going to pack a few clean snacks to make sure I’m not hungry and eat everything in sight.

I also have to be there for noon so I can’t make it to the gym this morning, and I don’t know exactly at what time I’ll be coming back home.

I admit, I hate ”unplanned rest day” and ”unplanned cheat meal”. But I need to remember that I’m simply an 18-year-old teenager and that it’s ok to be flexible in your diet and workout schedule at this age.

I will have a good time, and it’s all that matters.

Ran the first 3 km in approx 14:10, and ran the 3 km back home in approx 14:00 (I’m guessing here because my timer just stopped in the middle of my run back home)
It was also my first run with my new feet orthotics. I can definitely feel the difference. I have more balance, more control.
First day of June and my June Challenge started off perfectly. Did my 30 minutes of yoga and went on a run. Cardio is done, yoga is done, now let’s eat and hit the gym later for arms day ! #fitlife

JUNE CHALLENGE : Summer’s getting hotter !

I first wanted to do this June Challenge for myself, but then I thought I could share it with all of you guys.

It’s simple. Reblog this post, tag it #junechallenge, add the following sentence : ”This month, I will challenge myself to :”, and set yourself 10 challenging goals to follow or achieve.

These are my goals.

This month, I will challenge myself to :

  1. Do cardio 5 times a week for 30-60 minutes
  2. Run 2-3 miles at least 3 times a week (included in my cardio)
  3. Follow my 5-day lifting split and push myself harder when I lift
  4. Eat at least 1500 calories a day by keeping track of my daily intake (I have been eating intuitively for the last weeks, resulting in not eating enough)
  5. Prepare some clean-eating meals ahead so I have no excuse not to eat clean
  6. Drink at least 3 liters of water a day, including 2 cups of decaf green tea
  7. Stick to one cheat meal a week and say no to unplanned treats
  8. Not snack at work (I work at Dairy Queen and I’ve been snacking a lot lately)
  9. Get at least 8 hours of sleep every night
  10. Do 30 minutes of yoga everyday, either before going to bed or after eating breakfast

I will keep you updated on the challenge every day by posting helpful tips to help you to stick to your goals.

Looks like this summer’s getting hotter !

Can I just cry of joy ?

Peace, love, and yoga.

“I find your post with those weights a little offensive. When I first started lifting, I could only handle 5 pound weights. I've increased them a lot since then and I obviously don't use them anymore, but there are girls that do because they aren't strong enough yet for bigger weights. I'm not trying to be mean, just show you how some people can take what you said the wrong way. Just be a little more careful next time, because calling them "Barbie weights" is offensive to some people.”

This post was simply a joke. I wasn’t mocking anyone. I started with 5-7 lbs dumbbells too. But right now, for me , for my capacity, these are ”barbie weights”. It’s just a funny way I like to call them. Also, certain girls (or boys) underestimate their strenght by lifting with light weights. When I see some girls curling with 4-5 lbs dumbbells, I’m like ”Come on, you can AT LEAST curl 8-10 pounds, I’m sure”. It has to burn, your last reps have to be painful. This is how you’re gonna get some results.

Anyway, sorry if I offended you, but it’s my blog and I post what I want. This was humour and I wasn’t making fun of anybody.

This is going to sounds really silly

But when I think about it, I have finally found a passion, something I love to do. Nutrition, fitness, health, and lifting. I love watching my body change, I love taking care of myself and staying fit and healthy.

In the future, I would love be on the cover of a fitness magazine, have my own ”professionnal” blog like Cassie from Blogilates, etc. But what I would love the most is compete in a bikini competition.

But I can’t. Why ? BECAUSE I CAN’T WALK WITH HIGH HEELS. And it’s not that I need practice, I simply can’t because of my feet problem. I was born with bots feet that leaded to a calves muscle atrophy. I had an operation when I was 12 months but my feet are still not perfect and my calves muscle will never developped. I would need an operation and my doctor always said this operation is too risky and that my feet are just fine the way they are because I can do whatever I want with them.

I have orthotics but it just helps me when I run or when I’m doing any form of cardio. It won’t fix my feet.

I can’t believe I can’t do what I really want to do in life because of my stupid feet, ugh.

Healthy munchies while watching movies.

My mom told me there were so dumbbells in the basement

I got really excited but then I found …

What am I suppose to do with 4 lbs dumbbells ? Sorry, no barbie weights for me !

It depends of the brand. I wear jeans from size 1 to size 4. But seriously, who cares about a size number that only you see ?
